Wedding Content Creator, Northern Ireland & Ireland
We're Brideen and Deci, and alongside our wedding photography we now work as a wedding content creator for couples who want short-form video from their day. While you’re still picking confetti out of your hair, you’ll get a gorgeous reel to share with friends and family.
Our wedding content creation is available as an add-on to any Simple Tapestry photography booking. It is designed for couples who want to get some behind the scenes short-form video back straight after their wedding, complementing our photography without needing to hire another person.
Our wedding photography
We've been photographing weddings for 15 years, always as a two-person team, working together to catch the day from two angles at once. Our style is relaxed and candid: we watch the day unfold and photograph it as it actually happens, not as a performance staged for the camera. Every wedding you'll see on our site is real - no styled shoots or models in perfect weather.
The wedding content creation below builds on that same approach. It's an add-on to what we already do best, not a separate service bolted onto someone unfamiliar with how we work. Have a look through our photography before you read on.
What you’ll get
Throughout the day, we capture short, natural video clips on iPhone. Arrivals, getting ready moments, ceremony highlights, candids, portraits, the first dance, guests making a spectacle of themselves... We capture all these in between and behind the scenes moments as they happen.
Within 48 hours of your wedding, you’ll receive an edited reel and the RAW iPhone clips along with dozens of professionally edited preview photos from our main cameras.
Then, within a couple of weeks, you’ll get your full wedding gallery along with any further reels we may make using the footage.
Why add a wedding content creator to your day?
There are many reasons. You might not want the expense of a full professional video, but would like some video clips from the day. You might want something to share on social media while everyone's still buzzing from the night before.
Our video content is designed to be immediate. It doesn't need to be cinematic or perfect, it just needs to feel like your day, right now, while you're still living in it.
And because we’re already there and immersed in your full day, we’re fully briefed in and using our 15 years of wedding photography experience to read the room and anticipate moments.
That experience doesn't disappear just because we're holding a phone instead of a camera. Our understanding of light, composition, and timing in photography translate seamlessly to video.
It's also better value than booking separately. Because it's bundled into your existing photography package rather than a standalone service, you're not paying for a second deposit, a second contract, or a second person's travel, you get the video content as part of the team you've already booked.
Let's talk about wedding content creators
The wedding content creator market has grown fast. There are many hugely talented people entering the field, but also a lot of people with no training in photography or video doing it as a side-hustle.
We've seen a lot of claims from content creators around what they offer. Some of it is genuinely useful and complements our own work. Some of the claims aren't fully accurate from our perspective.
Here are a few things worth thinking about before you book one.
"Content creators capture behind the scene things that photographers miss."
This one gets repeated a lot, and it sounds compelling. But in practice, most content creators spend the majority of their day working in close proximity to the photographers, because that's where the action is. If they're near us, they're getting roughly what we're getting, just on a different device.
We're already two photographers working every wedding. One of us is rarely far from any given moment, and modern wedding photography is 80-90% candid. We're watching and reacting the same way a content creator would, not standing people up for posed shots all day. It's also why we built our own video add-on around the same approach: rather than asking a third person to learn your day from scratch, you get this style of coverage from people who are already there.
"Content creators deliver faster than photographers."
This is probably the most common claim, and it made more sense a decade ago. We already deliver a gallery of dozens of professionally edited highlight photos within 48 hours of every wedding, and now the same 48-hour window applies to your video clips and highlight reel too.
For stills, our cameras and lenses will always produce a different result than a phone. We love taking photos with our phones, but there is no comparison between a phone and the amazing (and very expensive) professional cameras and lenses we use. If our iPhones could deliver anything close to that quality, we’d be using them to take photos.
But for the video part itself, we're shooting and delivering on the same timeline and format as any content creator, just as part of the team you've already booked. The quick-turnaround argument for content creators assumes your photographer is weeks away and someone else needs to be brought in to fill that gap. That's not how we work, and now there's no gap to fill.
"It's one more person covering your day."
This isn't always a good thing. There are two of us at every wedding. Two photographers, two perspectives, two people watching different parts of the room at the same time. Adding a solo content creator to that gives you one more person with a phone, but also one more person to brief, coordinate, accommodate, and pay. Sometimes, the more people you have trying to get an angle on a moment, the more likely it won’t be captured. We’ve had content creators accidentally get in the way at key moments, and we’ve likely gotten in their way too.
Since video is already part of what we offer, you get the extra footage without the extra headcount. So there’s no new face to introduce to your bridal party, no extra invoice, no one else to fit into your timeline. And with 15 years of working weddings together, we have a near-telepathic understanding so don’t get in each other’s way.
“Content creators can video the latest TikTok trends for your wedding.”
This is a double edged sword. While it can be fun to get on board with the latest TikTok trends, you don’t need us to tell you how fleeting these trends are. Within a month, what was on trend has aged like milk. Within a year, it’s dead. Our own videos and reels concentrate on the energy and emotion of your wedding rather than the latest gimmicks or trends. It’ll be footage that you can watch in ten years time without having to explain your motivations to confused Gen Alphas.
“Content creators provide unfiltered, raw footage that is more authentic than photography.”
Professionally shot doesn't mean inauthentic. What we're looking for at every wedding are the unscripted, natural, funny, emotional moments, and that's exactly what our video content captures too. Authenticity comes from experience: knowing how to read a room, when to get involved, and when to stand back. That's true whether we're holding a pro camera or a iPhone.
“We send through photos and videos that you can watch the night of your wedding.”
Ask yourself: do you really want this? Would you rather be experiencing your wedding while it happens than looking at earlier bits on your phone? The days afterwards give you plenty of time to relive it. We'd rather you got to be present first, and have the content second, that’s why we deliver photos and video content within 48 hours.
None of this is to say short-form video isn't worth having. We think it has value, which is exactly why we built it into what we already do. Rather than adding a stranger to your day to capture it, you get it from the same two people who are already perfectly tuned into your wedding.
What our wedding video content isn't
This is not a replacement for wedding videography. If you want a full cinematic film with a proper edit and sound design, extended ceremony and speech coverage, and a long-form keepsake, you want a dedicated videographer, and we'd happily point you towards someone brilliant.
We do not follow TikTok trends or spend all day recreating them. We also don’t capture full ceremonies and speeches. It's short, honest, social-first video content. Shot on an iPhone pro, edited for sharing, and delivered fast.
If that's what you're looking for, it'll be exactly right.
Is wedding content creation a replacement for wedding photography?
Despite what the odd rage-baiting content creator on TikTok says, we think it absolutely isn’t a replacement for wedding photography. Oh, but of course we’d say that - we’re wedding photographers! While we think it definitely adds to your wedding coverage, it is more as a complement than a replacement.
Your photographs will be with you for a lifetime. They’ll get printed, framed, put in an album, pulled out at anniversaries, and enjoyed by people who maybe weren't even born on the day. The value in your wedding photographs is best counted over decades of appreciation rather than a few likes and shares in the days after the wedding.
