Wedding Photographers Northern Ireland — Simple Tapestry

Who we are

We're Brideen and Deci, a husband-and-wife wedding photography team based in Belfast. We've spent over 15 years photographing weddings and elopements across Northern Ireland - from intimate city elopements in Belfast to big celebrations in castles, barns, country houses and everything in between.

Every wedding we photograph is covered by both of us as a two-photographer team. That means more coverage, more candid moments, and a more complete story of your day. We specialise in relaxed, fuss-free photography — no awkward poses, no over-direction, just genuine moments captured as they happen.

We photograph a limited number of weddings each year so that every couple gets our full attention. This also means your photos will be back with you in weeks, not months.

We know Northern Ireland

There's a difference between a photographer who covers Northern Ireland and one who actually knows it. We grew up here (Omagh and Castlederg before moving to Belfast for Uni) and we've spent fifteen years getting to know its venues, its towns and cities, and it’s landscapes.

We know which rooms in Larchfield Estate catch the best late afternoon light. We know the quiet corners at the Titanic Hotel that some photographers might miss. We know where to find that cool graffiti in Belfast. We know that a grey sky in the Mournes can produce some of the most dramatic wedding portraits you'll ever see and which beaches will make you look epic.

Places we cover in Northern Ireland

We photograph weddings across all six counties of Northern Ireland and regularly cross the border into Neighbouring counties. Here's a flavour of where we work:

Belfast — Where we live and one of the best places in Ireland to photograph a wedding or elopement. The Titanic Hotel, Ulster Museum, Malone House, Deanes at Queens, The Dark Horse, Coco, Cafe Parisien, Cyprus Avenue, the Muddler's Club — Belfast has a brilliant and growing collection of wedding venues, from grand to intimate, formal to alternative. We love this city so much we got married here ourselves.

County Down — Home to some of our favourite venues. Larchfield Estate in Lisburn, Old Court in Strangford, The Carriage Rooms at Montalto, Clandeboye Lodge, Tullyveery House. County Down also has the Mourne Mountains for some of the most dramatic portrait backdrops in Ireland.

County Antrim — The elopement capital of Northern Ireland with the Causeway Coast, Galgorm Resort, the Glens of Antrim and the stunning north coast. We've photographed elopements at the Giant's Causeway and weddings at some of Antrim's most beautiful country houses.

County Armagh — Killeavy Castle Estate is one of our absolute favourites — a beautifully restored castle in the shadow of Slieve Gullion with some of the most atmospheric interiors we've ever photographed in. There are loads of hidden gems across the Orchard County

County Tyrone — Our home county! We grew up here and know it well. While Tyrone is usually a springboard for a reception elsewhere (often across the border), it still has some great wedding venues like Parkanaur, Glen Park and The Old Rectory. The county also has some beautiful rural landscapes that are perfect for outdoor portraits and elopements.

County Fermanagh — The waterways and the lakelands make Fermanagh one of the most scenically dramatic counties for a wedding. It has a load of great venues including lough Erne Resort, Ashbrooke House, the Killyhevlin and the utterly unique Lusty Beg resort.

County Derry — Like Tyrone, Derry is often the springboard for weddings in Donegal, but it still has so top class venues. The Ebrington Hotel in Derry city is a luxurious spot with great views of the city. We once saw Ed Sheeran perform the first dance at a wedding in The Beechill country estate, just outside the city, and nestled away in Limavady is the incredible Drenagh estate. Derry City itself is an amazing place for an elopement - the Guildhall is perfect - and allows you to nip off to the nearby Causeway coast or Donegal for epic portraits.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, travel within two hours of Belfast is included in all packages, which covers all of Northern Ireland and the border counties.

A small fee may apply for weddings further away.

  • Honestly it depends on what you're looking for. For country house weddings we love Larchfield Estate, Tullyveery House, The Old Rectory, The Carriage Rooms and Killeavy Castle. For city weddings, the Titanic Hotel and Ulster Museum are hard to beat. For something more intimate and alternative, Deanes at Queens, Cyprus Avenue and Coco Belfast are brilliant.

  • Most popular dates book 12 to 18 months in advance. Summer Saturdays go fastest. If you have a date in mind, get in touch as soon as possible — but don't panic if you're working to a shorter timeline, we do take shorter notice bookings when we're available.

  • Yes — elopements are a significant part of what we do. Belfast in particular is a brilliant city for an elopement. We cover everything from Titanic Quarter to the Cathedral Quarter, and we're happy to act as legal witnesses if needed. We cover all over Northern Ireland, and further.

  • Absolutely, and we always have. Every couple is welcome.

  • We specialise in candid, fuss-free wedding photography in a documentary style — capturing your day as it actually happens rather than staging or directing moments. We do portraits too, but we keep them relaxed and natural rather than too formal or overly posed.
