I honestly don’t know where to start with this wedding. Maybe we should start with Anna: an incredible person and a stunning bride who, along with Mark, was the warmest person you could hope to spend a day with. And what a day it was; a celebration of two cultures coming together against the picture-pretty backdrop of Tullyveery House.
We adored being part of two beautiful ceremonies; an outdoor civil ceremony in the walled garden and a traditional tea ceremony before which Anna and Mark, lady Gaga style, had a mid-wedding outfit change. We’ve said this before, but the tea ceremony and lion dance troupe performance are probably our favourite cultural traditions we’ve encountered over the years. It’s always a riot of colour, music and emotion.
A huge shout-out to Catherine, Anna’s sister, for her incredible (and we can’t emphasise the word incredible enough) singing and performing during the day, covering everything from Cyndi Lauper to traditional Vietnamese folk music. Such a talent.
After all the colour and excitement, the day brought, it was a lovely treat when Charlie from Tullyveery drove us up to the hills at sunset to enjoy the stillness and quiet as the evening faded to a warm glow. This is one we won’t forget in a hurry.
