When Christin and Gareth said they wanted us to have ‘complete creative freedom’ at their wedding, they weren’t joking. Never mind lying on the grass in her stunning Reclamation dress, neither Christin nor Gareth flinched when we had the idea of throwing axes over their heads for a portrait. It seems there’s a fine line between creative freedom and reckless endangerment of life…

After a secret first look, Christin and Gareth tiptoed through the trees to where their family and friends were gathered in Cairnwood forest for their humanist wedding. Then, onto Field of Dreams, a gorgeous Boho venue in the countryside between Bangor and Newtownards. Gareth, a skilled woodworker, not only put together some of the signs and games but also made the dining tables. Seriously, he MADE the tables they sat at for their wedding meal. Crazy skills.

As fantastic wedding photographers in their own right, Christin and Gareth had a good idea of what they wanted from their wedding day. There was no cutting of the cake, no first dance, no speeches or formalities. Instead, we had axe-throwing, clay pigeon shooting, a traditional German log-sawing and an abundance of joy and love.
