It’s hard to beat a city wedding. And it’s hard to imagine Yasmin and Gareth having anything other than a city wedding – it just suited their cool and chic style perfectly. After a city hall ceremony, we nipped over to (a very busy) Cathedral Quarter, dodging millions of tourists and grabbing some portraits.
The next time we see Gareth we might be disappointed if he’s not in a tux and driving a classic convertible – even the traffic wardens didn’t have the heart to ticket him when he parked on double yellows. And what can we say about stunning Yasmin – impossibly beautiful and just the warmest, loveliest person.
And where to do cool, chic young entrepreneurs* go for their wedding reception? A jazz bar, of course. This was our first wedding at Bert’s Jazz Bar in Belfast. We loved the dark, art deco interior and live jazz music while the guests sipped cocktails and gin. And as we grabbed a few portraits outside the building, with the music seeping out into the street, just for a minute, it felt like we had been transported from Belfast to Manhattan.
* Gareth is the founder of Copeland Distillery in Donaghadee. You really need to get some of their award-winning gin and whiskey into your drinks cabinet.
