When planning a wedding at Clandeboye Lodge, many couples venture out to nearby scenic spots like Crawfordsburn Forest Park or Helen’s Bay for portraits. These beautiful locations offer stunning backdrops, but Rachel and Jack took a different approach – they chose to stay on the lodge’s gorgeous grounds.

And honestly, it was the perfect decision. The gorgeous gardens at Clandeboye Lodge with their late Spring blooms, provided everything we needed for lovely relaxed portraits. By keeping things simple, Rachel and Jack had more time to enjoy their day with their friends and family. We kept their initial portrait session short and then grabbed them for some extra pics while their guests were being seated for dinner. This minimised the time they were away while giving us time to work.

You should never feel you’re missing your own wedding and good planning, like Rachel and Jack’s gives you the best of both worlds. The bits you’ll remember most are when you’re laughing, hugging, and dancing with your guests. And those are the moments we love to photograph.

If you’re planning a wedding at Clandeboye Lodge, there’s no right or wrong approach. But choosing to stay at your venue doesn’t have to mean sacrificing beautiful photos.
