Whenever people ask us about our job, they usually ask about the places we photograph or where we've travelled to as part of our job. While it's cool that we get to see places that we might not otherwise have been to, it misses the point about what is important in a wedding. It is firstly, lastly and always about the people. And when we're gathering stories about the great people we've met while working as photographers, these two lovely humans will feature prominently.
Without labouring the point, Lisa-Marie and Stephen are class and we loved every minute of their christmassy wedding in Drenagh estate - and it was so obvious that everyone else there felt exactly the same. At one point we commented that it felt like we were in some kind of Manhattan Christmas romcom, with Drenagh's gorgeous festive decor and Rachel Toman vibing up the room on the piano.
Too often, we've heard people say 'it's too cold for an outdoor ceremony.' That usually happens in Spring or Autumn. So it is quite rare to find ourselves standing outside in the month of December for a lovely humanist ceremony. Their guests huddled together under blankets in the moon garden at Drenagh, but in all honesty, you don't feel the cold half as much when there is so much human warmth and kindness in the room.
