Where do we start with this one - I honestly don’t think I have the words to adequately describe Laura and Alex’s destination wedding in Brighton. Maybe we should do an equation? Like, (Booze+Dancing x Craic) x Rain… actually I’m not sure that really describes the amount of dancefloor shenanigans… I think it was close to 10 hours in the end.

Laura has been a friend for a long, long time - definitely long enough for us to remember most of her haircuts from the age of 4 upwards. We’ve known her wife, Alex, a wee bit less, but have quickly grown to absolutely love her too. Together they make up the awesome wedding photography company Inbetween Days.

The journey to their wedding took many covidy twists and turns before we finally landed in sunny Brighton in October 2021. Ok, well, it was sunny when we arrived, at least… the day after the wedding was pretty gorgeous too. But the wedding day itself was, well, a bit… Irish. Gale-force winds* and relentless rain couldn’t dampen the spirits and craic, though. And the Grand Brighton Hotel was a pretty sweet spot as far as backup portrait locations go!

After the wedding in Brighton Town hall we all headed to Med for something to eat, before partying (for what felt like about 3 days) in Patterns nightclub.

*If you’re an umbrella lover, best not to scroll down. Many innocent umbrellas lost their lives in the making of this wedding. We hope to have honoured their sacrifice.

And then, the dancefloor really, REALLY went crazy!

And because we’re super-dedicated photographers, and DEFINITELY NOT because we were drinking and partying, we were still taking photos on the way back to our hotel at 3am when the rain finally stopped (kebabs just out of shot).

A massive thank you to all the suppliers who we had such a good time with. Firstly, wonderful Alice and Michael from @bennett_media were super pros on video, and then super crazy on the dancefloor. Both sacrificed themselves to the elements so we could get our shots - holding umbrellas and holding doors open for us. Katie Cullen, Kendols Beauty, Jules Moe and Wylie Wedding Hair gave us perfection that stood up to a hurricane. @doveand myrtle’s flowers were stunning. @pantrytoplatter’s grazing platter and @Beemaybaker’s amazing cake were the perfect appetisers to our 3am kebabs. And finally, the day would’ve been nothing without music. Take a bow @thehootinannies and @helloimhen - that was one helluva party!
