We love the age-old story of a person leaving Ireland and finding love in the USA. At this point, it feels like part of our culture. We always love shooting Irish-American weddings and Martina and Kevin's Autumn wedding in Orange Tree House was super craic from start to finish.
Kevin met Martina when he went to study in America. Of course, Irish males are renowned for their wit, charm and devilishly handsome looks, so she had no chance. While it's often tradition for a wedding to take place close to where the bride grew up, American brides seem to love any chance to get married in Ireland. We loved how Martina and her awesome bridesmaids knew exactly how to do an Irish wedding!
Both of them got ready in Rose Cottage in Greyabbey, opting to have a first look and portraits before the wedding ceremony. The grounds at Rose cottage are full of little nooks that we loved exploring - though, Kevin and the lads seem to have settled on the swing as their favourite. Doing photos before the ceremony turned out to be a smart decision as the winds swept in from the Irish sea just after the ceremony.
We could spend all day telling you how sweet and lovely the both of them are, but one particular thing stood out for us; Martina got her dress from The Bride's Project in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It's a secondhand bridal store that provides support for families affected by cancer. Even on a day that was all about them, Martina and Kevin were thinking of others.
