One of the things we love most about our job is when we get to do more than one wedding in the same family - you feel like an old friend getting a good catchup and everyone is at ease with you. We photographed Ailbhe’s brother Fergal’s wedding in Belfast. We specifically remember Niall as one of those useful people - you know, the kind of person that is always doing a million jobs to make sure everything runs smoothly. When they asked if we’d be up for photographing their wedding in County Clare, we didn’t hesitate.
This wasn’t our first trip to the gorgeous Spanish Point, but it was our first wedding there. The Armada Hotel is one of the most stunning hotels we’ve been to in Ireland. It’s so close to the raging Atlantic ocean that when you look out the reception windows it can sometimes feel like being on a boat. Added to that, they had the loveliest staff who were so kind two windswept nordie photographers.
On a day that was filled with great moments and class craic, our favourite memory is taking in the last few rays of sunshine with Ailbhe and Niall, before the sun dipped below the sea. There’s nothing like a sunset on the west coast.
