Anyone who’s read our blog knows how much we love photographing elopements. While big weddings bring all the chaos and craic, there’s something about elopements - the intimacy, the focus on just the couple - that makes them so special. And getting to act as official witnesses? Always an honour (especially without the pressure of writing a best man or chief bridesmaid speech).

Hattie and Alex are from England but have a real soft spot for Belfast, so when they decided to elope, it was the obvious choice. Most Belfast elopements we shoot take place at City Hall or the Ulster Museum, so having one at the Titanic Hotel felt extra special. It’s one of the best spots in the city for a small wedding, with its stunning historic setting.

After getting ready together, Hattie and Alex made their way downstairs to get married in the Thomas Andrews Room, named after the designer of the Titanic. The space was perfect - intimate, elegant, and full of history.

Once they were officially married, we took a stroll around Titanic Quarter for their portraits. Well, more of a chat with a few photos thrown in, really. Getting to know these two was honestly the best part of the day.

Sometimes it takes a visitor to remind you how great your own City is. If you’re considering eloping, Belfast can be pretty awesome.
