When you’re planning your wedding, the best advice we can give is simple - do it your way. If the traditional setup doesn’t feel right, tear up the rulebook and make it your own. That’s exactly what Catherine and Andrew did, and honestly, it couldn’t have been better.
First off, we love these two. Just genuinely sound, warm, funny people who were an absolute joy to be around. The kind of couple that makes the whole day feel easy. When they locked eyes during their first look, you could see what they mean to each other. Andrew was almost literally floored when he saw Catherine, and we don’t blame him.
The whole day happened at The Merchant Hotel in Belfast, which is always a solid choice for a wedding. No running about, no hassle, just one stunning venue from start to finish. Catherine and Andrew kept things small for the ceremony, with just their immediate families there. It was intimate, personal, and felt right. They even made each other’s wedding rings, which is next-level thoughtful (and makes the rest of us look bad - thanks for that).
After the ceremony, they grabbed some family photos, then we headed off around Cathedral Quarter for their portraits. A relaxed wee dander with plenty of craic along the way. Later, they had an intimate meal with family before meeting up with friends on the roof terrace, where the String Ninjas kept the party going.
This wedding had the fuss dialled down to zero and the emotion ramped up to eleven, and it was all the better for it - a day that was completely them.
